Secondary Education Minor
Students seeking a Minnesota license to teach grades 5-12 Communication Arts/Literature, Mathematics, Science, or Social Studies; grades 9-12 Life Science, Chemistry, or Physics; grades 5-8 General Science; and grades K-12 Visual Arts, Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, or World Language and Cultures in Spanish; and Teaching English as a Second Language complete a minor in secondary education.
Additionally, students interested in teaching English as an international language may complete this minor. This program does not lead to a teaching license.
Students should consult with an Education advisor and reference the CSB+SJU Education Department website for information on specific major/content course requirements. The number of major/content area credits required will vary by program.

Additionally, the Education Department offers an opportunity for students to earn a Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) license. This is neither a major nor minor; it must be combined with another area. Students are encouraged to consult with the Education Department for more information.
