Course Schedules

Departments create the class schedule and course offerings for each semester.  While classes are displayed in Banner Web Registration up to a year in advance of a semester, adjustments may be made for a variety of reasons prior to the start of an actual term.  There are several ways to review and access the course schedule as outlined below.  Please review the directions below, should you have any questions please seek assistance from Academic Advising, your Faculty Advisor and/or the Office of Student Records and Registration.

 Use the Class Search Tool

New in for Spring 2026 Registration! There is a new way to search for classes! Visit catalog.csbsju.edu/course-search to try it out - Search Sections.  Use the search panel on the left side of the page to filter courses by:

  • Subject area
  • Interdisciplinary Programs
  • Designations
  • And more

Simply select your criteria to narrow down options and find classes that fit your schedule. Don't forget to reset your search if you want to clear your criteria and start over. This tool makes it easier than ever to explore course offerings and plan your semester.

Search the Course Schedule using Banner Web Registration 

  1. Go to Banner Web Registration (select your school CSB | SJU) 
  2. Search for courses in either Plan Ahead, Browse for Classes, or Register for Classes to review classes for a particular term
  3. Select the term you wish to search from the drop-down menu then click continue
  4. Enter criteria you wish to search by: 
    • Use Attribute Search to look for Integrations Requirements i.e. AR, QR, WR, BN, CI, CS, AS, AE, HE, SW, NW, TE, TI, Thematic Encounter, Thematic Focus, EX, GL, LI   (see Registration Instructions - Course Search for more details on how to do this)
    • Use Keyword Search to look for interdisciplinary course options i.e. CLIM, ENVR, GLHH, SCED, etc. (see also Registration Instructions - Course Search for more details on how to do this)
    • Enter a subject code to see courses offered for a specific subject area, i.e. BIOL, COMM, ENGL, SOCI, etc. 
    • Use a course number to narrow your search further or to look for a specific course, for example enter BIOL in the Subject box then enter 201 in Course Number to only see results for BIOL 201.
    • Use the campus field to search for courses on a particular campus i.e. CSB, SJU, web based courses, embedded courses and full-term study abroad locations. 
  5. Click on Search 

Note - you can utilize the Advance Search option to search for a course in a Course Number Range such as 300 to 399 to find only Upper Division Courses, to narrow your search to certain days of the week, or to find only open sections.
