Elective Course Integration: Communication, Ethics, & Leadership

To support flexibility and interdisciplinary engagement, the Leadership Minor allows students to fulfill communication and ethics requirements through existing course offerings across the CSB+SJU curriculum. These electives are intentionally drawn from departments that emphasize core leadership competencies such as ethical reasoning, interpersonal communication, advocacy, and collaborative decision-making. By selecting from a curated list of courses, students can tailor their leadership learning to align with their academic major, career goals, and areas of personal growth, while maintaining a shared commitment to values-based leadership grounded in the Benedictine tradition. The following provides potential options that align with the elective areas. Please note that the following courses have not been formally approved to fulfill the minor requirements. They are existing courses that align with the program's goals.
Further, all elective courses designated to support the Leadership Minor learning outcomes will be supported with shared learning outcomes, syllabi templates, and brief instructor guidance to ensure consistent assessment across semesters and sections.
